How do we fight the COVID-19 virus? The World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Ministries of Health are one in declaring that we can kill this virus with proper disinfection and sanitation. Therefore, knowing the proper cleaning protocols and how to do them can save many lives!
This workshop covers global standards and best practices in preventing and managing infections in hospital and clinic environments. This includes isolation and quarantine facilities that are now tasked to manage COVID-19 patients.
Topics include critical areas of focus for COVID-19 and Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI’s), the importance of Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) in the prevention of infections, correct sterilization process, hand hygiene, antimicrobials, best practices for surgical site infection prevention, isolation precautions and practices, aseptic techniques, biomedical waste management, among others.
